Humming or Whirling Noises:

New washers make many different noises compared to previous washers. Typically, a humming or whirling noise can be heard during:

• The agitation/wash or spin portions of the cycle caused by the motor. 
• During the washer or agitation portion of the cycle as the motor turns the washer basket clockwise and counterclockwise. 
• When the cycle is draining, the pump will run continuously throughout the drain cycle. You may hear a humming sound from the pump, which may be more noticeable once the majority of the water has been drained.
