Wrinkled Clothing - Dryer

Possible Solutions

Was the load too large or tightly packed?

Dry smaller loads that can tumble freely. Results may also vary depending on fabric type.

Was the load removed from the dryer at the end of the cycle?

It is recommended clothes be removed from the dryer at the end of the cycle to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Leaving clothes for an extended period in the dryer after the tumbling has stopped can increase the chances of wrinkles forming.

Use the Steam Option

Select the Steam Refresh cycle to tumble the load with water and heat. This cycle, consisting of wrinkle-free cotton, cotton-polyester blends, common knits, and synthetics, is best for smoothing out wrinkles and reducing odors from dry loads.

NOTE: Refer to garment care label instructions. Dry-clean-only garments are not recommended.

Was Wrinkle Shield or Wrinkle Prevent Used?

The Wrinkle Prevent or Wrinkle Shield Option is a feature available on select Maytag dryers that helps minimize wrinkles in freshly dried clothes. It works by intermittently tumbling the laundry after the drying cycle completes, preventing fabric from settling and creasing during the cooldown phase. This results in garments that look fresher and more presentable, reducing the need for additional ironing or steaming.
