What to Check if the Refrigerator Section is Too Cold
Refrigerator Section is Too Cold in My Maytag Refrigerator
If the refrigerator section of your refrigerator is too cold, try the following:
- Check the controls.
- Ensure the ice maker is on and connected to a water supply.
Are the Controls Set Correctly for the Surrounding Conditions?
You may need to adjust the controls to a warmer setting to accommodate the surrounding conditions. After adjusting the controls check the area again in 24 hours. Controls are preset at the factory for normal household usage. If a refrigerator is being used accordingly, ensure that control is still set at the recommended factory settings; 37 degrees Fahrenheit for the refrigerator and 0 degrees Fahrenheit for the freezer. Refer to the Owner's Manual for settings.
Is the Ice Maker Connected to a Water Supply?
If items in the fresh food section of your refrigerator are freezing and the refrigerator is not hooked up to a water supply, check to ensure the ice maker is turned Off. If the ice maker is turned on, then it will continue to try to make ice without any water, which can make the fresh food section too cold. To turn the ice maker to the Off position, see your Owner's Manual.
