How to Use the Humidity Control or Energy Saver Feature
How to Use the Humidity Control or Energy Saver on Your Maytag Refrigerator?
Certain refrigerators are equipped with a separate control to prevent exterior moisture from forming on the vertical hinged seal. Within the seal is a heater that warms the surface to prevent exterior moisture. Below is some information on how to properly use this feature.
Energy Saver (Some Models):
The Energy Saver Feature controls a heater that helps to reduce moisture on the vertical hinged seal. To turn the heater on, turn the Energy Saver switch to the "off" position.
NOTE: Controls will vary depending on the type of refrigeration that you have. For more specific instructions for your model, please see the Owner's Manual.
Energy Saver Example
To operate this feature, follow these instructions:
- To turn on the Energy Saver feature, touch ENERGY SAVER to activate the feature. When the feature is ON, the Energy Saver icon will blink 3 times and then appear on the display screen. The Energy Saver feature will remain ON until manually turned off.
- To manually turn off the Energy Saver feature, touch ENERGY SAVER. The Energy Saver icon will disappear from the display when the feature has been turned off.

Humidity Control or Moisture Control (Some Models):
The Humidity Control or Moisture Control Feature turns on the heater to help reduce moisture on the vertical hinged seal. On some models, press the Humidity Control pad once. The Humidity Control indicator light will illuminate and the heater will be turned on.
Other models will use a touchpad interface to activate the Humidity Control. See your Owner's Manual for more instructions on how to turn the Humidity Control off and on. If you would like to download or view product literature for your appliance, please visit our Manuals and Literature page.
Automatic Heater (Some Models)
