Gurgling Noise - Refrigerator
Possible Solutions
Is it gurgling during the cooling cycle?
- A gurgling sound may be heard as the refrigerator shuts off after a cooling cycle due to the refrigerant flowing through the tubes in the cooling system.
- A gurgling sound may also be heard when the doors are open and/or closed. This is part of the cooling cycle.
- Both are part of normal operation.
Is it gurgling when opening the doors?
- A gurgling sound may be heard when opening and closing the doors due to water equalizing in the drain tube as air is forced through the tube.
- This is part of normal operation.
- This is more common during time of high humidity.
Is it gurgling when water is being dispensed?
- If the water filter was just replaced or installed, ensure the filter was installed correctly. If the water filter is not seated properly, it can cause; no or low ice production and water not dispensing properly. Try removing the water filter and re-installing it.
- Flushing the system is needed every time the filter is changed or once the refrigerator is installed to the water supply line for the first time. The air in the water system may cause dripping at the dispenser, small/hollow ice cubes, or a cloudy appearance in the water quality.
- A kink in the water source line can reduce water flow. Straighten the water source line to restore adequate water flow and pressure. To help reduce the chances of a pinched water line, do not push the refrigerator too far back against the wall or cabinet.
