Is the washer new?
New parts, such as the motor, may cause a slight odor when the washer is used for the first few times. This is normal and will dissipate after several uses.
Have you cleaned your washer lately?
The washer does need to be cleaned occasionally. Below are the instructions for proper cleaning of your washer.
Recommended Method: Using Affresh™ washer cleaner
Read these instructions completely before beginning the cleaning process
Open the washer lid and remove any clothing or items from the washer.
Add one Affresh™ washer tablet to the basket
affresh® cleaners are available at many retailers. Find one here.
Alternate Method: Using liquid chlorine bleach:
Clean your washer interior by mixing 1 cup (250 mL) of chlorine bleach and 2 cups (500 mL) of detergent. Pour this mixture into your washer and run it through a complete cycle using hot water. Repeat this process if necessary.
Remove any hard water deposits using only cleaners labeled as washer safe.
Use a soft damp cloth or sponge to wipe up any spills. Occasionally wipe the outside of your washer to keep it looking new. Use mild soap and water. Do not use abrasive products.
