During this self-correction cycle, the wash is attempting to redistribute the clothing inside the washer basket evenly. How to Correct an Out-of-Balance Load

If the error is present:

Cancel the cycle by pressing the Start button or disconnecting the power cord.
Run a drain-only cycle (if water is present).
Before starting a new cycle, rearrange clothing and/or remove some items to ensure the load is level and not overloaded. Suggestion: Try using the Bulky or Heavy Duty cycle.
[Optional]—If the wash has been completed and you just need to extract water from your garments, you may run a Drain & Spin cycle after rearranging the load.

If the cycle can be paused:

Press the Start button to pause the cycle.
Open the lid and rearrange the clothing or reduce the load size.
Restart the cycle by pressing the Start button.

How to Help Prevent Unbalanced Loads

Unbalanced loads can be prevented by following a couple of key steps.

Proper Loading

Load clothing in loose heaps evenly around the basket. Don’t overload the basket. Clothes should be loosely added and only as high as the top row of holes in the wash basket. Balance heavy items with lighter ones to maintain equal distribution during the spin cycle and avoid an unbalanced load washer.

Pick the Right Cycle

Select the appropriate wash cycle and settings for your type of wash load. For large loads or oversized items, pick the “Bulky” cycle. It is not recommended to wash a single absorbent article. For example, do not wash one rug. Wash two or three garments to balance the load for a good spin. Use delicate cycles for lighter fabrics and heavy-duty cycles for bulky items. Level the Washer
