Does the filter need to be cleaned? 

The filter is intended to be emptied between each cycle, even if the Pet Pro cycle is not being used. If the filter is not emptied between loads, collected material will build up and decrease its efficiency in future cycles; it could also produce smells and odors.

Are you using High Efficiency (HE) detergent in your washer?

The use of non-HE detergent can cause residues to build up, which can result in odor or smell in the washer.  Always use the detergent manufacturer's recommended amount of detergent.

Have you performed a "Clean Washer" cycle?

Run the Clean Washer cycle every month, or every 30 cycles, to maintain washer freshness. This procedure will help reduce residue and odor from developing in your washer. The Clean Washer cycle uses higher water volumes in combination with affresh^® washer cleaner or liquid chlorine bleach to thoroughly clean the inside of the machine.

Do you remove your clothing when the wash cycle is complete?

Always remove your clothing items as soon as possible when the wash cycle is complete. Leaving wet clothing inside the wash basket can lead to mildew, which can lead to odors developing both in the clothing and in the washer.
