Banging Noise - Front Load Washer
Possible Solutions
Banging Noises:
The drain hose or water inlet hoses may be knocking against the rear of the washer cabinet. Secure the hoses using the beaded strap supplied with the washer (on some models), or use a wire tie. The vibration of the washer can be carried through to the hoses. Also, as water is pushed through the hoses, it can cause the hoses to move. If the hoses have enough space to hit the cabinet, a knocking noise will be heard.
Also verify that no other items are leaning against the washer, such as every day household items. Brooms, dustpans, dryer racks, or hangers can make rattling noises if they are leaning against the washer, especially during high spin speeds. Always check around the outside of your washer before use for items that may cause noise.
Have the shipping bolts been removed?
All four (4) shipping bolts and the plastic spacers must be removed from the rear of the washer before you operate it. Each unit is shipped from the factory with four bolts, which are designed to secure the washer during shipping. Failure to remove all of the shipping bolts, and the four plastic spacers that are with them, can result in noise, vibration or error codes. See the Installation Instructions for details.
