Using Auto Dry, Timed Dry and EcoBoost
Which do I use on my Maytag Dryer - Auto Dry, Timed Dry, or EcoBoost?
Drying a large load?
Large loads take longer to dry. A load that's too large for the dryer will not tumble and limits air movement. This slows the process of removing moist air from the dryer, which will result in longer drying cycles.
Difference between auto dry and timed dry:
- Automatic Cycle: During Automatic Cycles, drying air temperature and moisture level are sensed in the load. This sensing occurs throughout the drying cycle, and the dryer shuts off when the load reaches the selected dryness. Use the NORMAL dryness level to provide optimal energy savings.
- Timed Dry: With Timed Dry, the dryer runs the amount of time set and sometimes results in shrinkage, wrinkling, and static due to over-drying. Use Timed Dry for the occasional damp load that needs more drying time or when using the drying rack.
Using the EcoBoost option? (on some models)
The EcoBoost™ option will default only for the Regular/Normal cycle and is only available on that cycle. This option allows you to increase your energy savings by using a slightly lower heat level. The EcoBoost™ option will increase drying times by approximately 40 minutes, which will be reflected on the LED Display. If optimal time is desired, touch ECOBOOST to turn off this option.
