Dryer Turns On after Cycle is Complete
Maytag Dryer Turns On After Cycle Is Complete
Having your dryer turn on after the cycle has completed can be alarming, but this guide will provide you with education around some cycle modifiers that will allow your dryer to turn back on after the cycle has completed.
Was a Wrinkle Prevent Cycle Selected?
Wrinkle Shield™ and Wrinkle Control are examples of cycles that are created to help alleviate wrinkles from setting into clothing. If you cannot remove a load immediately, turn on this feature, and it will add 30 to 140 minutes of periodic tumbling to help reduce wrinkling. Some models also incorporate steam into their wrinkle-reduction cycle.
The Wrinkle Shield and Wrinkle Control cycles activate when the normal drying cycle is complete. In other words, the dryer will turn off, then turn back on for 15 - 30 seconds, approximately every 5 to 10 minutes. This may appear as if the dryer is turning back on by itself. Depending on how long your model allows, this could continue for up to 140 minutes. It will continue to turn off and on for the duration of the setting. This is normal.
