Not Filling or Long Fill Times - Commercial Grade Washer

Possible Solutions

Did you check the washer hoses and water supply?

Check the household faucets to see if the hot and cold water household water supply lines are turned on. Make sure to open both water supply lines completely, for proper fill.

Did you check the screens on the water inlet valves?

There are screens in each water inlet valve meant to catch water sediment and debris before entering the washer. If those screens get clogged, the washer may not fill from one or both inlet valves. Turn off water supply and disconnect hose from the back of the washer to check the screens. See installation instructions for removing hoses.

Is the drain hose correctly installed? Is filling and draining?

Check drain hose for proper installation.  Use the U-shaped drain hose form on the drain hose and securely attach to drainpipe (standpipe) or tub. Top of standpipe must be at least 39" (990 mm) high; install no higher than 96" (2.44 m) from the bottom of washer. If you must install higher than 96" (2.44 m), you will need a sump pump system. Check that only 4.5" (113 mm) of drain hose is in the drainpipe (standpipe).  Do not tape over the drain opening. If the drain hose is too far inside the standpipe, the washer will siphon out water (fill and drain at the same time).

Did you leave the lid open?

Some machines will fill with the lid open, while others will not. Some machines will advance into the wash cycle with the lid open, others will not. Some machines will automatically drain if the lid is left open for more than 10 minutes after it fills. All washers will not go into a spin with the lid open. Check your Owner's Manual for your specific model number to determine how your machine operates.

Are you using anti-flood devices and controls?

Whirlpool recommends that appliances be directly connected to the water supply for optimum machine performance.
