Was the rack recently removed? 

Most dishwashers have the ability to remove the upper rack. This is beneficial if you want to wash large stock pots or tall items like vases or platters. If the rack was recently removed, ensure the track stops are properly in place.

Are you experiencing movement issues with the rack (difficult to slide in and out)? 

If the dishwasher is new, make sure that all shipping material is removed from inside the dishwasher. Also make sure that there is no debris caught in the wheels and that large objects (pans, cutting boards, long spoons, etc.) are not interfering with the movement of the rack.
