Water Temperature - Dishwasher
Possible Solutions
Was the dishwasher newly installed?
Review the following for troubleshooting based on your water temperature concern.
- Cold Water: Even if your dishwasher has an internal heater, ensure the water supply line is connected to a hot water source. Connecting the dishwasher to the cold water line can affect the following: wash performance, long cycle times, decreased drying performance. This is because the internal heater may not be able to reach the necessary temperature within the standard cycle time.
- Warm Water: Run the temperature at the kitchen faucet before starting the cycle.
- Too Hot: Check your household water heater settings.

Is the water temperature correct?
As part of normal operation, the dishwasher pauses two to three times during the cycle for thermal holds and advances once the temperature is met. When certain cycles and/or options are selected, a longer cycle is normal. Additional time is needed to heat the water to the proper temperature for cleaning and/or sanitizing your dishes. Before starting a load, run the hot water faucet nearest the sink until the water is hot; then turn off the faucet and start the dishwasher.
