Oven Too Cold - Calibrated - Wall Oven

Possible Solutions

Keep the Door Closed

Limit the number of times the door is opened. Use the oven light to check baking progress. Opening the oven door allows heat to escape and the oven to cool.

Importance of Preheating

  • Preheating is necessary for good results.  Allow the oven to fully preheat before inserting food.
  • Do not open the door to insert food until the preheat tone sounds.

Was the Correct Cycle Selected?

Ensure the correct cycle (bake, proof, warm, etc.) is selected, and the desired temperature is input. Refer to the Owner's Manual for cycle information and instructions on using the control.

Was an entire oven rack or the oven bottom lined with aluminum foil?

Do not cover an entire oven rack or the oven bottom with aluminum foil below the baking pan. This can block good air flow.

Does the oven need to be calibrated?

The oven provides accurate temperatures but may cook faster or slower than your previous oven. The temperature calibration can be adjusted, and it can be changed to Fahrenheit or Celsius. Perform a Bake Performance Test to determine if the oven needs calibration.

Refer to the Oven Temperature Control section in your Owner's Manual for specific instructions on calibrating your oven.

Is the range in Celsius?

Most ovens and ranges can operate in both Fahrenheit and Celsius modes. If you want to change your oven from one to the other, you can manually set it. If you think your oven or range has been changed, here are some tips on how to identify it:

  • If the oven or range has been changed to Celsius, the oven control will not exceed 260°.
  • If the display shows C instead of F, the control has been set for Celsius temperature operation.

Does the Wall Oven have the correct amperage?

If the wall oven does not have the proper amperage, the heating element may not turn on.

  • The oven must be connected to the proper electrical voltage and frequency as specified on the model/serial number rating plate, which is located on the right mounting rail.
  • Models rated from 7.3 to 9.6 kW at 240 volts (5.5 to 7.2 kW at 208 volts) require a separate 40-amp circuit. Models rated at 7.2 kW and below at 240 volts (5.4 kW and below at 208 volts) require a separate 30-amp circuit.

See your model's "Installation Instructions" for all the installation requirements.
