Fan or Air Movement Noise - Wall Oven

Possible Solutions

Does the cooling fan continue to run after the cycle is complete?

The turntable, microwave oven light, and cooling fan (on some models) may continue to run until the microwave door is opened or Cancel is pressed. Microwave cooking does not continue beyond the end of the cooking cycle.

It is normal:

  • For the automatic cooling fan to run when the oven is in use and/or after the cycle completes.
  • To hear the automatic cooling fan move air when the oven is in use and/or the cycle completes.

The automatic cooling fan:

  • Helps to cool the enclosed oven cavity and the electronic controls when the oven is in use and/or after the cycle completes.
  • Keeps the electronic controls cool during oven functions such as BAKE, BROIL, or CLEAN.

Note: In many wall ovens, if the oven door is left open to cool the oven, the cooling fan will not shut off.

It is not normal for the cooling fan:

To make a rubbing/metal-on metal noise when operating. Refer to the Owner's Manual for detailed information.
