Burner or Drip Bowls - Electric Range
Possible Solutions
Cleaning Burner Drip Bowls:
IMPORTANT: Ensure all controls are off and the cooktop is cool before cleaning. Always follow label instructions on cleaning products. Food spills containing acids like vinegar and tomato should be cleaned when the appliance is cool. These spills may affect the finish.
- To remove coil elements: Push the edge of the coil element toward the receptacle and lift it enough to clear the burner bowl. Pull the coil element straight away from the receptacle. Lift out the burner bowl.
- Remove the drip bowls.
- Clean the drip bowls with Liquid detergent or all-purpose cleaner. Rinse with clean water and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
- Replace the drip bowl and coil elements.
Alternate cleaning solution (Chrome Bowls)
- Make a cleaning solution of ½ cup (125 mL) ammonia to 1 gal. (3.75 L) water.
- Soak the drip bowls for 20 minutes.
- If needed, scrub with a stainless steel wool pad, use a mildly abrasive cleanser and clean with a wet scouring pad.
- Dry thoroughly.
