Humming or Crackling Noises on your Maytag Cooktop
A low humming sound may occur during cooking. The cause of this is the amount of energy which is transmitted from the appliance to the cookware. This sound will quiet or go away when the power is turned down.
A crackling sound may also occur when cookware consisting of different materials are used. The noise is caused by vibrations in the joint faces between the different layers. It may change depending on the amount and type of food being cooked. If desired, try a different power setting or cookware.
